Legendary Games/moments

Stepping stones in KPT wiffle ball history, this is a page where the greatest moments are remembered.

Magical Hitting Day

This was just a practice game but it was so amazing Mike Robbins thought we should add it. It was a small 2v2 game with Jon Shaw and Mike Robbins, facing off against Jon Robbins and Mike Martin. Some of the smaller details of this game have been forgotten, but the two bit ones were 1. mike robbins hitting 5 HR 2. Jon Shaw hitting 8 HR. Both of them seeming unstoppable. For Mike Robbins this was just a slightly above averge day that still seemed amazing, but for jon shaw most likely the best hitting day of his wiffle ball career. Jon Shaw hit 5 hr off mike martin, and 3 off jon robbins. my favorites were the Hr shaw hit off the ground onto the first deck, and a triple decker blast by mike robbins. a very strong hitting day for the two of them, and a pitching day that the other mike and jon hoped to soon forget

The KPT/Gooserocks Game-2002

This was the greatest game in KPT wiffle ball history still today.  It was how the league unified to become a league, and earned respect from the Gooserocks beach wiffle ball, which later fell apart.  It involved the all stars from both leagues that year.  The gooserocks players, 4 of them, were all 2 years older than every play on the KPT team at least.  The KPT roster was Randy Sartar leading off, then Mike Martin, then Pat Galligan, then Jon Shaw, followed by Jon Robins.  The starter of the game was Randy Sartar.  The games scoring started off with Goose Rocks scoring on a triple, but then KPT struck back with back to back blasts by Randy Sartar and Mike Martin.  After pitching a great game, the already beaned and edgy Mike Martin came to pitch.  The first pitch he got the pitcher for the other team back by hitting him in the head.  A fight almost broke out, but was stopped by both teams.  Then after runs were scored by each side, there came a victor, KPT wiffle ball league.  Randy Sartar hit 2 homers in that game and was the MVP while Mike Martin had 1 and a few RBIs as well, and everybody on the team also had a bunch of hits to go with it, Pat Galligan hit a homer, and so did Jon Shaw.  It was the best game in all of the KPT wiffle ball history to come.

The Robbins/Shaw Perfect Game

Yet another memerable game in the wiffle ball history. The great robbins/shaw perfect game. It was a Farley field, a good three on three game. I started teh game and went 2 perfect innings. Then after throwing a few wild pitches, i handed it over to robbins, who pitched another great perfect 2 innings. We managed to score 2 runs in those 4 innings. Then i brought it in for the save with yet another perfect inning. A truly great game in wiffle ball history.

The great south portland brawl

This time it was only me(shaw) and martin. we stared off playing a pretty good game. We were a little better than them, but not by much. Then all of a sudden martin beans the kid right in the leg with a fast ball, which actually can hurt with a wiffle ball) well the kid blew it all out of proportion and charged the mound, backed up by his friend. I saw something was going to go down and martin was outnumbered so i ran over. First we just start arguing with each other and then the spark of the fight started. one of the kids said to me "hey arnt u that kid who cut his neck open" (referring to previous accident of mine at goose rocks beach) this really pisses off martin who then sais "hey i wish ur neck was cut open." then the kid pushed martin a little but, not much, but enough to make anyone angry, this led me to hit the kid in the back of the head. the kid then gets mad at me and punches me in the arm. now his friend was a huge wimp and ran away, leaving it 2 on 1. so now it was easy, martin socked him in the gut, he fell and i just started kicking he really hard in the side and ribs. We then continued to kick and punch him for about 5 minutes and tehn said he had enough. (serously a true story)
